Maggie Grace is an American actor who was born Margaret Grace Denig in 1983. Her most famous roles include Shannon Rutherford, a character from ABC's Lost series as well as Kim Mills from the Taken trilogy. She was born in Worthington in Ohio. She was kicked out of school when her parents divorced to go to Los Angeles to live with her mother. Though she struggled financially and in the beginning, she made her acting debut in the role of Rachel's Room's primary character. The role she played as Martha Moxley, a 15-year-old victim of murder in the T.V. movie Murder in Greenwich in 2002 earned her nominations for a Young Artist Award. In 2004 Grace was selected to portray Shannon Rutherford in the television series Lost on which she was a main character for the initial two seasons winning an award called the Screen Actors Guild Award shared with the ensemble cast. Grace has worked with Tom Welling on The Fog in the year 2005, wanted to move to film. She was in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club in 2007 and Taken (2008) alongside Liam Neeson. The actress reprised her character as Kim Mills in Taken 2 (2011) and Taken 3 (2013).She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland, a contemporary adaptation from Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played the role as Shannon in two more episodes of Lost including the series finale. She appeared in 2013's sixth season of Californication. The character she plays is Faith she is the muse and fan of the stars. Hank Moody as played by David Duchovny falls in love with her. Being part of the Gyllenhaal family, she is the daughter and elder sister of the actor Jake Gyllenhaal. When she was in her teens she appeared in small roles in her father's movies and co-starred with her older brother in Donnie Darko which is a famous cult film. She then appeared as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal has received acclaim from critics for her performances as the lead in the erotic romantic comedy Secretary (2002) and the dramatic Sherrybaby (2006) each of which resulted in the Golden Globe Award nomination. After several commercially successful films in 2006, including World Trade Center she received greater recognition for her performance as Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008). As a single mom in Crazy Heart (2009) she got a nomination in the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. In the following years, she played in comedies and dramas such as Nanny McPhee's Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011, and Won't Back Down 2012 Other characters include as a secret agent of Secret Service in White House Down 2013, as a singer for Secret Service in White House Down 2013. She also appeared as a vocalist in Frank 2014 and as a singer as a singer in The Kindergarten Teacher 2018, where she is the title role. Gyllenhaal's first film as a filmmaker and writer came in 2021 when she wrote The Lost Daughter, a psychological drama in which she won an award at the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award. In addition, she received the Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
