Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) as well as Chris Watson (born in Paris). As a young girl of just five, she moved to Oxfordshire and enrolled at her first Dragon School. At the age of six, Emma realized she was going to become an actress and for several years, she trained at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school where she studied performing and singing. Emma's screen debut took place with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone's premiere in 2001. It broke all records in the opening day sales as well as opening week-end take-offs and was the highest-grossing film in 2001. Reviewers have been highly lauding the film as well as the performance of the three principal young actors. The Daily Telegraph, a widely read British paper, praised her for her performance. Later Emma was nominated for five prizes for her work in the film winning her the Young Artist Award for Leading Actress of a Younger in an feature Film.
